Are You Interested in Local Glass Recycling?
Local GlassCycle Friends is initiating a pilot glass recycling program. The program intends to collect and process glass waste from Greenbrier County businesses and residences. This grass-roots volunteer-based effort is in the process of exploring end-use possibilities for the recycled glass. The glass sand end-product will be utilized locally, avoiding high transport costs.
Local GlassCycle Friends will present to Lewisburg City Council on January 19, between 7:30 and 8:30 PM, inviting Council to partner to provide glass recycling in the area. City Councilman Andy Evans suggests that two rows of supporters in the meeting hall will show strong community for glass recycling to Council. Let's outdo two rows! The meeting is held at Council Chambers, first floor of Lewisburg City Hall.
Here is the text of that proposal.
Please share this request with all who may be interested, thanks. Best Wishes for a happy and sustainable 2010!
